International Women's Day

On Monday, March 8, 2010, Nadia and many other celebrities will take part in Out of Silence: Readings from The Afghan Women's Writing Project in support of International Women's Day. The event will take place at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles and will begin at 6:00 PM.

"This project is intended to empower, and give voice to Afghan women and create a platform for their stories to be shared with the world," states Masha Hamilton, founder of the Afghan Women's Writing Project. It will be an evening of dramatic readings of selected essays and poems written by emerging Afghan women writers who often face estrangement, beatings, and even death for creatively expressing themselves through the written word.

Patrika Darbo, Co-Chair, AFTRA National Women's Committee (and Nadia's former Days of our Lives co-star / mom) says "The AFTRA National Women's Committee is proud to co-sponsor this historic evening in an effort to bring to life the words and emotions of courageous and extremely talented Afghan women. Let us commemorate International Women's Day by honoring equality and dignity for women around the world."

Unfortunately, the old photo gallery (hosted by AlbumPost) had a major hardware failure six months ago and I've been notified that it will not be restored.

Nadia and Shawn Christian (Daniel) will once again be donating their efforts and time in support of the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries - Genesis House III on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17 in Detroit, MI.
